"I think they like it." Thomas hears Guy-Manuel's voice inside his helmet. He barely hears him over the sound of thunderous applause, and it's the first thing he's said to him since they started other than "Don't play that yet" and "Keep up, Thomas."
"I think they do!" He calls back to him through his helmet. Guy was always a little stressed at the beginning of their shows, but he calms eventually. Sometimes he even dances, and that gets the crowd going too.
And him, though he'd never tell him that.
The crowd couldn't see it, but Guy was already dancing. In height, Guy's hips reached just below the switches and knobs their fingers were working magic on, and so nobody but Thomas could see Guy's hips. Guy's wonderful, swaying, thrusting hips.
It was like a private show, just for him. His hips moved perfectly in sync with the rude word Thomas was in charge of repeating over and over and over with just a press of his finger and just seeing Guy so lost in it all made him want to continue forever.

"Thomas don't overdo it!" Guy's voice is loud and it snaps him out of his trance, the crowd giving another round of applause and cheers.
He was thankful for the helmet, because he was sure his face was as red as a tomato. He cursed himself in his head for getting so carried away. A little too carried away, he realized, tilting his head slightly to check just how noticable the bulge in his leather trousers were. Later he would tell himself it was the stress of the show that caused his erection, but for now he had to concentrate on the music or Guy would notice his problem, and that would only make this situation even more embarrassing.

He takes another drag and watches the end burn a pretty orange before fading away.
He remembers teaching Thomas how to smoke at the age of 18. He'd started off slow and used his free hand to grab Thomas's chin and pull him forward, lips barely brushing and passing smoke into his slack mouth. They continued this technique long after Thomas had adjusted to the burn, if only as an excuse for the kisses they shared in between.
Thomas never did like the taste. It was never an addiction for him, he gave it up easily.
Inhale, hold, tingle, exhale.
He finished off the last of the cigarette, letting it drop to the floor before putting it out with the tip of his shoe. When he moved his foot back he stared at the remains, black and smudged on the pavement, watching the stub roll away in the wind. He felt cold now.
He digs his fingers into his pocket, pulling out a small, half empty packet of chewing gum and pops one into his mouth before making his way back inside. The apartment is warm and he can hear the T.V. being flicked channel to channel in the living room.
He chewed once, twice, three times before removing the minty rubber with his fingers, leaning over the sofa to let his hair fall in front of Thomas's face, who sighs over-dramatically.
"You promised, Thomas. A reward for the day I quit smoking."
"So I did."
"And a reward every day after that I go without smoking."
"Non non non, I didn't say every day."
"Well now it's every day." He figured he deserved it. It was for Thomas, after all. "Bisou?" Kiss?
Thomas tilts his head upwards, noses touching, and leans up to kiss Guy-Manuel's lips briefly.
"Chew more gum. You still taste like an ashtray."
